VdF Award for System Innovation
In the category "system innovation" the Dr.-Georg-Triebe-Innovation Award has been passed to IMI Cornelius by the Association of Designers for restaurants, hotels and catering business (VdF). VdF awarded the prize on the occasion of gala dinner in Berlin on 8th October, 2010, celebrating the 20th Anniversary of VdF. The jury chose the best of 87 proposals from 35 companies in three categories: "system innovation", "product innovation" and "ecology and economy."
IMI Cornelius has applied with its energy saving system called "Duette" for use of dispensing carbonated soft drinks. On the one hand, the system is characterized by saving more than 40% of energy compared with conventional technologies. On the other hand, it has an integrated diagnostic system that detects an ailing mechanism and all data are transmitted directly to the local service partner before the defect actually occurs.
The jury determined that this development is very important for a market of considerable potential for energy savings. IMI Cornelius does not only save natural resources. The company also sensibilizes the agents and decision makers within this market segment for the topics ‘energy efficiency and sustainability'.
